I was inspired to paint this complex character after having finished William Taubman's book "Khrushchev: The man and his era".
I strived to emulate the look and grandeur of the soviet realist painters by showcasing the idea of, more than the man himself.
A walking contradiction who tried his best to live up to old ideas while at the same time trying to destroy them. To reform and yet conserve. A communist true-believer and a cynic.
Here's a look at a deeply flawed yet interesting man.
