American business man, media personality and the 45th president of the United States (2017-2021).
This piece started with the idea of using the style and color palettes of British portraitist George Dawe (1781-1829) and his series of paintings of Napoleonic era Russian generals. Bringing that tonality and mood into a modern figure while weaving in the traditions of American Presidents portraits mixed with fantasy artists such as Boris Vallejo or Ken Kelly (Trump being such an 80s-90s icon).
It was an interesting subject to paint; the hardest part of it being getting the hair to look the part.
Like him or not, everybody seems to have an opinion on the man. Only time will reveal things more clearly to us. Nevertheless, one could still call him one of the most polarizing man in history.
