Grand-Father

Before the holidays I worked on this portrait of my paternal grand-father and had some canvas prints made for as Christmas gifts for every one of his children, my aunts and uncles.
It was very emotional working on that piece and staring into the eyes of my late grand-father hours on end trying to get it just right.
Again, I believe it's all in the eyes; to give the portrait a certain life.
Let's just say there was a lot of emotion on Christmas night.

I went with an worn out, dirty yellow color palette to give it a vintage look and feel. It came out quite nicely on the printed canvas.
